Lissa Nicolaus


Lissa is a naturist and fly fisherwoman. She paints on location at beaches, hills, waterfronts and small towns; the subject matter for her colorful, impressionistic paintings.

Lissa is a native Californian who studied art at the University of California, Berkeley, San Francisco Art Institute and San Francisco Art Academy. She lives in Marin County. She has traveled extensively throughout Europe, Africa, Asia, South America, New Zealand and Canada.

Lissa is a founding member of the BayWood Artists, a member of the Marin Arts Council and a member of the Bolinas Museum Living Artists Project. She was a featured artist in Plein Air Magazine (June/July 2001), and her painting “Stinson Dunes” was featured in Southwest Art Magazine in October, 2001. She had a Point Reyes Light article about her solo show “Coastal Impressions” at the Bolinas Museum Living Artist Project in October 2001.

Lissa has shown at the Bolinas Museum Auction, Bolinas Small Works show, Marinscapes at Escalle Winery, Marin Open Studios, BayWood Artists annual shows, California Collectors Gallery, and the Claudia Chapline Gallery.
