Krystal Allen has resided and painted in West Marin for over 32 years. Inspired by the endless beauty not only from her home in Inverness, but all over the country, she paints en plein air when she can and takes this work back to her studio to expound on the images she captures. Her art influences come from many areas, primarily the French Impressionists, California Impressionists and the Hudson River School. A life long artist, she seeks to constantly improve her capabilities and knowledge of her craft. Capturing the natural light of the area, translating the feel of the land and sharing with the viewer her joy in her surroundings, are part of her paintings both in oils and watercolors. Participating in events to help raise awareness and funds for land conservation and social issues, she contributes to the betterment of those same surroundings.
Krystal is active in the California Art Club and the American Impressionist Society. This year she has been invited to be a guest artist of the BayWood Artists who raise awareness for conservation issues. She participates in the MALT show, MarinScapes, Bolinas Museum Mini Show and will be exhibiting with the BayWood artists in shows at the Point Reyes National Seashore Red Barn and the Bay Model in Sausalito. Currently she is also employed by Fine Art Connoisseur and Plein Air magazines.
